- Feeling sad, empty, tearful or irritable most of the day
- Noticeably reduced interest or pleasure in almost all activities
- Significant weight loss or gain or a decrease or increase in appetite
- Difficulty falling asleep, sleeping too much, or not feeling rested after sleep
- Feelings of restlessness
- Feelings of fatigue or loss of energy nearly every day
- Feelings of worthlessness or guilt nearly every day
- Difficulty thinking or concentrating, or indecisiveness nearly every day
- Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide
